This commission will provide recommendations to the City Council on a variety of areas, including:

CLG Status and Historical Preservation
Advise regarding planning, promotion, management and acquisition, construction, development, maintenance, and operation of parks and facilities. (Example projects for 2023: mayors' fountain, Miller Park planning, facility needs assessments)
Recommendations to the Council for the naming of parks and facilities
Advise on community recreation and cultural needs
Develop recommendations, plans, and proposals for utilizing funds in the tourism account.
Develop a recommendation for adopting a trail/park program
Review Public art installations and funding requests
Advise on the development of policies for public spaces.
Beautify Buckley project recommendations and approvals.
Connect with local business owners on how to enhance the historical and cultural integrity of the community while supporting business growth.
Review Buckley Hall policies and fee structures annually.
Collaborate with staff for Grant opportunities by providing written Letters of support for grants
