2026 Police Citizens Academy Canceled
Message from Chief Alfano. After careful consideration the Buckley Police Department has made the difficult decision to cancel the 2026 Police Citizen's Academy. Ideally for the academy to be successful we have set a benchmark for participation from the community. We were unable to reach the benchmark by the application deadline so I informed the department that we will cancel 2026 with the hope of starting back up in 2027. We appreciate and value the community support we receive each and every day. Thank you.

Every Thursday from February 5, 2026, to March 26, 2026 - Meeting Time:
Thursday evenings, 6 pm - 8:30 pm. - Location:
White River District Boardroom, 310 North River Ave, Buckley, WA 98321 - Special Event:
Saturday, March 21, 2026, from 10 am - 2 pm (mock scene day) - Graduation:
March 26, 2026
Eligibility Requirements
- Must be 18 years or older
- Hold a valid driver's license
- No felony or domestic violence convictions
- Misdemeanor arrests will be considered on a case-by-case basis
- All applicants are subject to a limited background check
- Priority is given to those living or working in Buckley, Wilkeson, or Carbonado
