Buckley Senior Center
Welcome to the Buckley Senior Center
The Buckley Senior Center is open to all men and women 55 and older in the greater Buckley area. The Center had its beginnings with an informal group of senior citizens who met regularly for companionship and recreation in one of several places in downtown Buckley during the late 1960s and early 1970s.
It was through the acquisition of state funding and federal Housing and Urban Development monies administered by the Pierce County community development block grant program, that the Buckley Multi-Purpose Center was built in 1979. This enabled the Buckley Senior Citizens to have an unchanging and publicly supported facility and place to meet. The group went on to attain its non-profit status in November of 1990.
Mission Statement
To affirm the dignity and self- worth of older adults by providing services and activities in the atmosphere that encourages and supports senior life to the fullest. The senior center does this through wellness, educational, social, nutritional, cultural, recreational programming, and joyful experiences.
