If you live or work within the city limits of Buckley, Wilkeson, or Carbonado, you're invited to apply for the Buckley Police Department Citizen’s Academy. This free, interactive 8-week program offers up to 25 participants the chance to get an inside look at our department. Experience a K-9 demonstration, engage in a shoot-or-don't-shoot simulation, watch a spike strip deployment, and more! Our goal is to strengthen relationships with our community, giving residents and business owners a firsthand understanding of local law enforcement.
Academy Details
- Dates: Every Thursday from February 6, 2025, to March 27, 2025
- Meeting Time: Thursday evenings, 6:00 PM – 8:30 PM
- Location: Glacier Middle School
- Special Event: Saturday, March 22, 2025, from 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM (mock scene day)
- Graduation: March 27, 2025
Eligibility Requirements
- Must be 18 years or older
- Hold a valid driver’s license
- No felony or domestic violence convictions
- Misdemeanor arrests will be considered on a case-by-case basis
- All applicants are subject to a limited background check
- Priority is given to those living or working in Buckley, Wilkeson, or Carbonado
