Public Works is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the water, sewer, and stormwater utilities as well as all public parks, streets, sidewalks, and right-of-ways within Buckley city limits. Other responsibilities include management and maintenance of the City's fleet of vehicles and construction equipment.
The Permit Center issues permits in accordance with pertinent codes; provides permit tracking and inspection scheduling for customers; and provide customer service to internal and external customers of the permit center.
Building & Planning prepares the City's Comprehensive Plan as well as development policies and design standards for the City's physical development and environmental protection; administers adopted building codes, inspections, and other long‑range plans; evaluates and revises the zoning and subdivision ordinances as needed; and works with our local planning and design commissions to plan the appearance and use of land in Buckley.
