911 Communication Center Services
The Enhanced 911 Communications Division is a multi-agency dispatch center for
four police departments, four FIRE/EMS departments and public works. It is funded by the City of Buckley,
Pierce County 911, City of Orting, Town of Wilkeson, Town of Carbonado, Greenwater
Fire Department, Carbonado Fire Department and Crystal Mountain Fire Department. Buckley is one of the Primary Answering Points (P.S.A.P) in Pierce County and answers all 911 calls for the above jurisdictions. The Center is staffed twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. It is completely computerized, to include dispatching, records, telephones, mapping and recording
systems. The personnel include one manager, four full-time and two part-time 911 Telecommunicators who are highly trained professionals and hold numerous State certifications for their various training accomplishments. Other responsibilities for this division include, but are not limited to, receptionists, informational services, data entry, State crime statistics, Concealed Weapon permits, records retention, and inquires and entries into the State and National Crime Information Centers. The Buckley Communications Center handles over 42,000 calls annually.
