The Foothills Historical Museum has reopened. During the recent closue they were not idle! Their intrepid group of volunteers worked hard on rebuilding the historic Stilley cabin, updating old exhibits and building new ones. The Museum is open Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday from 12-4 pm & Sundays 1-4 pm. Jan-Feb-March Newsletter
The Senior Activity Center is hosting free tax preparation. Please register in advance by stopping by the Center, or call 360-829-0190. Appointments will be made on Wednesdays on February 7th, February 21st, March 7th, March 21st and April 4th. Flyer
All residents within the city limits of Buckley are required to license their dogs. Your dog license is valid from Jan - Dec of each year and must be renewed annually. You may obtain a dog license by coming to the Buckley Police Station, Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m.- 4:00 p.m. For questions or additional information please see animal control & dog licensing.

The Northeast Pierce Resource Guide for Winter 2018, is now available to download at http://www.cityofbuckley.com/communitysupportservices. The Community Resource Guide offers detailed information and links to agencies and groups that provide general assistance, employment, hot meals, housing, clothing banks, support groups, health care, and more. It has recently added two new sections: Veteran Resources and Senior & Disabled Resources.
Pierce County Parks has completed the connecting section of the Foothills Trail that runs between Buckley & South Prairie. There will be a celebratory grand opening event planned for this spring! For more information on the Foothills trail go to: http://www.co.pierce.wa.us/1384/Foothills-Trail
The City of Buckley is very pleased with its new bond rating from AA- to AA! The City recently refinanced a portion of its 2010 Unlimited Tax General Obligation Bonds. The higher rating grade allowed the City to refinance at a lower interest rate, achieving interest cost savings for the taxpayers. Press Release
The Buckley City Council adopted the 2018 Budget on November 28, 2017, Ordinance 23-17. (Allow time to download 3.42 MB)
City of Buckley elected officials & staff recently met with the Washington State Auditor’s Office and received a clean audit opinion regarding the 2016 Financial Statements & Federal Single Audit. Congratulations Mayor Pat Johnson! The Association of Washington Cities (AWC) announced Mayor Johnson was elected President of AWC on June 22 at its Annual Business Meeting in Vancouver, Washington. AWC Press Release
